1. Aside from Anarchy, Capitalism is one of the most politically free system of government. It reduces the amount of Government interference in people's private lives, and gives private citizens and businesses the freedom to choose what to do with their money, private property, and businesses.
2. Less restrictive tax systems, because Capitalist systems are almost entirely privately funded so the Government requires less taxes in order to function.
3. Allows competition between companies and countries to prosper by promoting industry innovation, in Socialist countries the Government controls all means of productions and most businesses, this discourages innovation by companies. Whereas, in a Capitalist economy most sectors are privately owned and funded which means that business must innovate in order to stay ahead of the market. This promotes competition and ultimately leads to improvement. A perfect example of this was during World War 2, when the Allies invented to the Jeep in order to gain an advantage in the war (J. Nunno and R. Nunno).
4. It is the system which provides the most equality. Equality of opportunity is one of the most important factors for a system such as this to function properly. Equality of opportunity provides that while each person may not be equal in the same way (some people are taller than others, some people are more athletic than others, etc.) each person has the same chance of success, it all depends on how hard the person works and whether they can offer something innovative or interesting to the market. (Hardin)
5. More advantageous system for the environment. In systems where land, business, and resources are privately owned, there is a much greater incentive to protect the land and environment because it is your property, whereas in a system where land, businesses, and resources are owned by the government/public (e.g. Socialism), there is little incentive to protect that land because it is seen as someone else’s responsibility. (Michel)
6. According to studies completed by the World Happiness Organisation, Capitalist countries often rank highest internationally in reported levels of happiness. (J.Nunno and R. Nunno) (Helliwell, et al)
7. Better for the overall national economy; when the richest countries in the world (ranked by GDP per Capita) are examined we will see that the majority of the top ranking countries are either Capitalist, or have systems which are rooted in, and are primarily, Capitalist. (Tasch) (B. Kennedy)
8. Capitalism is the ideal system for healthcare. It eliminates Government rationing of services, and reduces hospital and treatment wait times which improves quality and accessibility of care.
9. Capitalist societies typically have less poverty. (Roser)
10. Education in privately funded systems is often of a much higher quality compared to public schools. Not only do private systems give students more options on the type of education they want but as a result of the schools being payed directly with tuition, it allows higher quality teachers to be hired.
“I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There's a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”
